BEACON COMMUNITY CENTERS Beacon Community Centers offer a comprehensive range of programs and services for children, youth and their families during after-school, evening, and weekend hours (schedules vary by site). St. Nicks currently has two Beacons: Greenpoint Beacon Center located at JHS 126 at 424 Leonard Street and Williamsburg Beacon Center located at The Grand Street Campus at 850 Grand Street. After-School Programs St. Nicks' Beacons provide access to after-school programs to a network of nearby elementary and middle schools. Pick-up and travel service is provided for elementary students. We currently serve the following schools at the Greenpoint Beacon - PS 18, PS 132, PS 196, St. Nicholas School, IS 318, MS 577, and MS 582. Family, Adult and Saturday Programs In partnership with community organizations (either by developing joint programs or by providing space), our Beacon Centers offer recreational and community services to families and adults. Current Greenpoint programs include volleyball, soccer, basketball, General Educational Development (GED) classes, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Williamsburg programs include volleyball, soccer, baseball/ softball, yoga, martial arts, family literacy, financial workshops, and art classes provided by the Joan Mitchell Arts Foundation. Both Beacons also offer Open Gym time. For program information and schedules, please contact Beacons directly.
