St. Nicks’ success in revitalizing the neighborhood is rooted in community activism and the efforts of hundreds of organized community leaders and volunteers. We continue to work with a wide range of people who are organizing to make certain that our community remains a place where low- to moderate-income people can live comfortably, get a good education, and find a decent-paying job. Here's how you can get involved in some of our current efforts:

O.U.T.R.A.G.E. (Organizations United for Trash Reduction and Garbage Equity) is a coalition of more than two dozen community and civic groups which came together in 1999 to address the growth of the waste industry in East Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Williamsburg/Greenpoint OUTRAGE

St. Nicks, or the St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation, emerged in 1975 at the forefront of a nationwide grassroots movement to preserve and improve neighborhoods. A group of determined Williamsburg residents and business people banded together to end general decline in the neighborhood.
Today, St. Nicks is dedicated to the comprehensive revitalization of the Williamsburg-Greenpoint community in North Brooklyn, New York City. With more than 1,350 employees, we strategically focus on providing services in five main areas: housing, healthcare, workforce and economic development, and youth and families.
St. Nicks is a nonprofit, non-sectarian community development corporation.
