The St. Nicholas Human Support Corporation (St. Nicks HSC) has a proud history of providing quality home care services to Medicaid-eligible people throughout Brooklyn since 1980, when it was formed by St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corp. Services are provided through a contract with the New York City Human Resource Administration (HRA), which consistently ranks St. Nicks as an “Outstanding Program.” Eligibility for services and the number of hours of service per week are determined solely by HRA. St. Nicks HSC then provides services as authorized. St. Nicks HSC employs more than 1,100 home attendants to care for our 800 clients. Your Home Care Team Your home care team includes certified home attendants, registered nurses, plus support staff who help us provide the best care possible. Each client is assigned a staff member, usually one who speaks the client’s native language, who will work closely with clients and/or their family to ensure consistent, satisfying service. Our staff is on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure safe, appropriate care. Attentive, Personalized In-Home Care Our caring home attendants provide a number of essential services to enhance our clients’ lives. Our nurses assess each client and develop a customized Plan of Care. The Plan of Care services may include grooming, housekeeping, cooking, feeding, laundry, medication reminders, and escorting. Service hours range from a few hours per week to around-the-clock 24-hour care. Work for St Nicks St. Nicks HSC seeks people who want to make a difference and join our skilled and caring team. Immediate work is usually available for applicants who are certified as Home Health Aides or Personal Care Aides. Free training leading to certification is offered. All home attendants become part of 1199 SEIU and most qualify for medical insurance and other union benefits.
